Black Pride RVA

July 20th, 2024. Black Pride RVA & UGRC banded together yet again to host their 7th annual Black Pride event. Here, there was a diverse panel of vendors---from small Black and LGBTQIA+ owned-businesses, to bigger companies like Allianz and Bank of America. Various industries were present such as those working in healthcare, colleges such as VCU, to more grassroots and nonprofit organizations such as Freedom Virginia, Habitat for Humanity, and Planned Parenthood. Truly there were so many vendors and tables, it was hard to visit them all in one day. Every table was giving away their version of swag (stuff we all get!) that supports and uplifts the Black LGBTQIA+ community. There were also opportunities for free HIV testing!

Now if free stuff isn't your jam, maybe music is! At this event, there were a handful of performers including an all-female dance troupe, a band, a cabaret dancer, a rapper/singer, and a DJ. Sounds like a good time, right!?
